Article Spotlight ACEEU: Resilience in Higher Education: Inner Development for Social Change
The article “Resilience in Higher Education: Inner Development for Social Change” by Marita Coppes and Maike Verhagen discusses the integration of resilience into higher education curricula to enhance student well-being and societal engagement. At Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, the four-year Bachelor program in Global Project and Change Management (GPCM) incorporates both the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Inner Development Goals (IDGs) to align personal growth with global challenges. The Resiliency Labs (RLs) were established in 2021 to address the question: “How can we embed resilience into our curriculum?” These labs aim to prepare students to navigate complex social, environmental, and economic challenges in a rapidly changing world, thereby supporting the university’s Third Mission of societal contribution.
